What should be referred to in the selection of cross roller guide?

1.Guiding accuracy

Guiding accuracy is the linearity of the moving parts running along the guide rail and the accuracy of their mutual position with the relevant base surface.The main factors that affect the guiding accuracy are the right angle of V-shaped groove surface,structure type,contact accuracy of roller and V-surface,roughness of V-surface surface after grinding,overall rigidity of cross roller guide rail and supporting parts,thickness of oil film and grease viscosity of V-surface,and thermal deformation caused by continuous friction between guide rail and supporting parts.

The geometric accuracy of linear motion guides generally includes:vertical against the grid plane and horizontal perpendicularity in the mounting surface:V-groove parallelism between the two guide rails.The geometric accuracy of the guide rail can be expressed by the error on the full length of the guide rail or the error per unit length.


2.Accuracy retention

Accuracy retention is the ability to maintain the original geometric accuracy during the working of the guide rail.The accuracy retention of the guide rail mainly depends on the wear resistance of the guide rail and its stability after processing.The wear resistance is related to the material matching,force,processing accuracy,lubrication method and the performance of the protective device of the guide rail.In addition,the processing residual stress in the guide rail and its supporting parts will also affect the accuracy retention of the guide rail.


3.Motion sensitivity and positioning accuracy

Motion sensitivity refers to the minimum stroke that a moving member can achieve,and positioning accuracy refers to the ability of a moving member to repeatedly stop at a specified position as required.The motion sensitivity and positioning accuracy are related to the friction characteristics of the moving components of the guide rail,the moving speed of the guide rail,the transmission stiffness and the quality of the moving components.


4.Motion smoothness

The smoothness of guide rail motion is the performance of guiding rail in low speed movement or micro movement without fluctuation of running accuracy.The stability is related to the structure of the guide rail,the matching of the materials of the guide rail,the lubrication condition,the properties of the lubricant and the stiffness of the transmission system of the guide rail movement.


5.Vibration resistance and stability

Vibration resistance is the ability to guide the rail pair to withstand the vibration of the forced machine tool and the impact resistance of the support,while stability refers to the performance that does not fluctuate in its own accuracy value under a given working environment



6.Steel strength

The ability of the guide rail to resist force deformation.Deformation will affect the relative position and guiding accuracy between components,which is particularly important for precision machinery and instruments.The guide deformation includes the deformation of the guide body and the contact deformation of the guide pair,both of which should be considered.


7.Structural manufacturability

Structural manufacturability is the degree of difficulty to guide the processing of the rail pair(including the member where the rail pair is located).Under the premise of meeting the design requirements,the manufacturing and maintenance should be as convenient as possible and the cost is low.
